Summer 2007 Preview

It’s almost that time of the year where we get to sit back, relax and just watch anime all day. So, to prepare for that here is a list of the summer anime of 2007. The date/time in the list is not the confirmed official time and may be subject to change.

Please check MOON PHASE for entire listing of anime and air time, check AndrewLB’s Summer 2007 wiki for which fansub is subbing what. These are the only one I am currently interested and hopefully you guys will be watching these ones too. Anyway lets start shall we?

Premiere Date: July 8th, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Sundays at 25:30
I have no idea what this anime is about but it looks damn interesting. It’s one of those weird magical girl animes again. The only magical girl anime I liked was Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Other than that I never really watched magical girl anime because they always seem tedious and kiddish. This one seems that way as well but its a comedy so I might as well try one episode and see what its like.

Odds of me sticking with this series: Decent (Subject to Change)

Premiere Date: July 3rd, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Tuesdays at 26:30
The first one was creepy as hell and I enjoyed it. I will definitely be watching this one. I really love the chapter for Rena in the first one. That one was the most creepy one of them all. I didn’t really finish the first one though because I had to reformat my computer so I lost everything… I’ll probably go back and watch the first one again from where I left off if I can remember.

Zero no Tsukaima: Futatsuki no Kishi

Premiere Date: July 8th, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Sundays at 24:30
The first one was awesome, but a lot of people didn’t like it because it was only 13 episodes long but now there is a sequel so all of you, quit whining! The first one had the ending I really wanted to see. I really glad that he stayed with Louise instead of going back to his world. I don’t know anything about the sequel but I’m sure Louise and Saito will be facing a lot of troubles throughout the series. Hopefully there won’t be any damn 40 year old looking pedophile asking Louise to marry him. Louise is 13 and that pedophile asks to get married right away?

School Days

Premiere Date: July 3rd, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Tuesdays at 26:15
Based off the hit visual novel by overfl0w, School Days is now being made into an animated TV series. The story in the visual novel was a boy who liked this girl but this girl never really notices him even though they are in the same class. Along with his other friend who is also another girl who likes him. So basically, you’ll be watching a love triangle through the series pretty much. There is a sequel to School Days visual novel and its called Summer Days. Hopefully, School Days the anime will also have a sequel and it will be called Summer Days.

ZOMBIE-LOAN

Premiere Date: July 3rd, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Tuesdays at 26:40
Another anime from Peach-Pit. The last anime I watched from Peach-Pit would be Rozen Maiden and that series was damn awesome. Suigintou rocks! Anyway, Zombie-Loan is about well probably zombies and such but there is this girl who is somewhat of a shinigami and has these eyes that can see these grey rings around people’s neck. When time passes that ring gets darker and darker until its black and thats when they die. I guess that sums up what its up but if you would like to read the entire thing in detail, head to ANN.

Sky Girls TV

Premiere Date: July 5th, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Thursdays at 25:28
This will probably be a sequel to the OVA or probably the remake of the OVA but longer. However, ANN has categorized it as this being an alternate retelling. Either way it beats only having 3 episodes. The story will probably be the same as the OVA but again, just longer. In the near future, Earth is at war with aliens called Worms. The war leaves the population of Earth decimated, with young men the main casualties. The Worms were beaten back but their re-emergence heralds the creation of a mecha unit called the Sonic Divers, piloted by 3 young girls to counter this threat.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan 2nd
http://www.bin-kan.com/
Premiere Date: August 11, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Saturdays at 24:00
I just remember about this series. I watched the first one, although it was really short, each episode was 13 minutes long but I still enjoyed it. Dokuro is an angel yet she carries a mace with lots of spike thats just weird but cool. ANN doesn’t have any info on the second one but it has info the first one so you can probably still get an understanding of it if you read the first one. This is the other magical girl anime I watched which I find enjoyable. I just hope they make it longer than 4 episodes.

There a bit more out there but I’m just currently swamped with animes right now if you check my Anime List page you can see that I have 8 I’m currently watching and now I have to add about 7 more into the list. I’m glad that I get so many good anime to watch this summer but damn thats a lot. I really would of liked to blog Doujin Work but it seems a bit too much like Comic Party and that anime wasn’t all that good. But this one just seems like the same thing but the main character is now a female, I’ll probably watch it when I finish one of my other ones but there will be no plans for it currently.

CODE-E also seems like something interesting but again, I’m swamped so no plans for it yet but maybe in the future. There sure isn’t a lot of new animes this season compared to Spring or Fall. I guess thats good because I don’t want to be overwhelmed with too much anime… What am I saying “too much anime” I can’t put the words Too Much and Anime in the same sentence thats crazy talk now. But yeah, I am currently watching a lot so no plans for any of the ones listed in this last blurb.
