OP Sequence:

OP: 「微熱S.O.S!!」 (Binetsu S.O.S!!) by 橋本みゆき (Hashimoto Miyuki)
Episode 1 Scenes:

Based off of the hit Japan arcade now xbox 360 game, The [email protected] Although it says “based” the two are completely different. The characters may have the same name, similar looks however the story is completely different. On the game you try to become the top iDOL but in the anime, they are trying to become the best iDOL Master. iDOL are these giant robots (who doesn’t love giant robots?) who gets piloted by girls called masters. Sounds cool right? Cute girls piloting giant robots, you don’t see that everyday. However these robots only respond to girls and not guys which is kind of weird.

I am constantly getting shivers down my spine when I watch this anime because its just so damn cool. Its by Sunrise and every time I watch something by them such as Gundam series or Code Geass (oh how I miss Code Geass…) I tend to get shivers down my spine from scenes they do. I’m not completely sure what the story is about but basically there are these asteroid belts called “drops” which basically is circling around Earth and sometimes an asteroid will just suddenly start dropping onto Earth. Japan is the only country in the world to use iDOL to destroy these asteroids. Then there is this opposing group who also have an iDOL called Nubilum who tends to attack the agency who tries to destroy the “drops” for some reason. Probably has to do with the first iDOL called Imber which only responds to Haruka. Its good to see more giant robot anime. Sunrise delays Code Geass until Summer 2007, they make this anime so its all good. This is a must watch if you like giant robots or cute girls or both.

Plot Summary:
Haruka Amami isn’t the most confident pop singer in Japan, but when she’s accepted after an audition, she’s sent to Tokyo to start a career in entertainment. Though, little does she know that the agency that’s taken her on is actually a front for a task force that uses giant robots to defend the Earth from falling meteors.

The OP is probably my favorite in this anime, the ED didn’t sound good at all to me. The OP is upbeat and seems like something The [email protected] should have in the game. Plus the OP sequence has penguins on it and with Yayoi in a penguin suit, those are pluses to my decision of 「微熱S.O.S!!」 being the best theme for this anime.

ED Sequence:

ED: 「悠久の旅人~Dear Boy」 (Yuukyuu no Tabibito~Dear boy) by Snow*
