Nagasarete Airantou is about a boy who ran away from home but fell overboard on the ship and drifted to an island where its only inhabited by female. So he is the only male there, 1 guy to hundreds of girls I like those odds. I wish I was on this island. The boy’s name is Ikuto, during his stay there he thinks everyone is out to get him to be their husband but Suzu doesn’t know anything about guys so she just want to help Ikuto. Its a good comedy, much better than Lucky Star but not as good as Hayate no Gotoku!(Read the review here on this blog written by Kisaragi). The girls are really funny in this anime, especially Machi. She and her sister, Ayane are priestess on the island. Machi is extremely weird and has voodoo dolls to torture Ayane. She also has this tube thing where she puts stun darts in and shoots it at people she’s really cute but extremely evil. She is very short for an 18 year old and she really wants Ikuto to like her but she is doing it in the wrong ways possible.
Everything on Airantou which is also the name of the island if I remember, I forgot since I don’t have episode 1 on my computer anymore. But everything on Airantou is huge, a daikon can be the size of my bed which is incredibly huge. But it is handy to have vegetables that big. There are also a bunch of weird animals like Tonkatsu which is this pig head thing with no legs. Kuma-Kuma is this big bear like animal who hangs out with Yukino the most. The island is split up into 4 different sections which is controlled by 4 different animals. This comedy is the only one that seems to have a story of some sort. Maybe the story is Ikuto trying to get off this island, or maybe the story is about Suzu who will finally realize that she likes Ikuto. Suzu is a really funny character, because Ikuto tells her that men and women take baths separately back where he is from but Suzu think its a lie and always want Ikuto to take a bath with her. I don’t think its such a bad thing taking a bath with Suzu but Ikuto always gets a nosebleed so tough luck for him.
Plot Summary: One day, Ikuto has a fight with his father and as a result runs away from home in the heat of the moment. Everything was going well until he boarded a ship, but then he carelessly fell overboard. After encountering the most serious raging storm in a hundred years, and spending many days adrift, he arrives here, at “Airantou”. However, this island is a little weird…because, this Airantou is an island comprising solely of girls. An (extremely enviable) destiny awaits Ikuto.
The OP and the ED are both sang by Horie Yui and I don’t particularly like either one of them. It sounds good I guess but not something I really like to hear every single day. Both the OP and ED are a bit of the happy tune if thats how you describe it, I sort of like the fast paced J-pop stuff. The ED Sequence seems like its from a visual novel scene, or eroge if thats a little more clear. Sorry for the ED Sequence screen caps to be cluttered with subs. The first screen cap of Suzu in the ED is suppose to be that pixelly.
