Monthly Archives: August 2007

Good news, Alicia Florence fans. ARIA The OVA ~ARIETTA~ will not be the last for ARIA. There is going to be a production of an actual 3rd season after the OVA is finished.

The sequel is going to be called ARIA The ORIGINATION. It was announced that production has been since past spring and the staff producing this one will be as large as the staff doing the OVA.

No broadcast date has been given yet but I suppose pretty soon after the OVA is aired.

Fall 2007 Preview

It’s almost back to school… its a sad, sad time for all anime watchers but good thing newer anime is coming out! So, to prepare for that here is a list of the Fall anime of 2007. The date/time in the list is not the confirmed official time and may be subject to change.

Please check MOON PHASE for entire listing of anime and air time, check AndrewLB’s Fall 2007 wiki for which fansub is subbing what. These are the only one I am currently interested and hopefully you guys will be watching these ones too. Anyway lets start shall we?

Premiere Date/Airtime in Japan are subject to change

Premiere Date: October 4th, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9):Thursdays at 25:55
I guess for anyone who has played the visual novel already know what story could possibly be about. Supposedly the TV anime is an alternate retelling of the movie that was premiered in Japan theaters only. I don’t know what the story is going to be about, but I do hope its gonna be a fantastic one since it is by KEY who also did Air and Kanon visual novels. Both of those had wonderful story so I’m pretty sure CLANNAD would also have a wonderful story that would make you wish for a sequel of some sort.

Premiere Date: September 2nd, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9):Sundays at 24:00
ARIA is probably the most beautiful series I have watched. The graphics are just so beautiful and Neo-Venezia is beautiful. Makes you want to live there. So anyway, this is probably the last sequel (I hope not) to ARIA. Akari is still trying to be a Prima like Alicia. This is one of those anime even though its a OVA that I cannot wait for. September 2nd though, thats pretty soon.

Another new anime based of a visual novel. I’m not going to talk too much about this one since I have no idea what this anime is possibly going to be about so no details here or anything. But I hope you will check it out anyway.

Sketchbook ~full color’s~
Premiere Date: October 1st, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9):Mondays at 26:00
I think this might be like Hiwamari Sketch, just a group of friends who like to draw and tend to do really stupid and funny things. I actually like Hiwamari Sketch but I could never find any torrents for the next episode so I just gave up. Hopefully a fansub would be kind enough to stick with this anime and sub it long enough so that I can enjoy or it hate it, either way.

Rental Magica
Premiere Date: October 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9):TBA
A kid named Itsuka Iba inherits a “rent-a-magician” company called Astral, complete with quirky, magic-wielding employees after his father had disappeared. The kid has a freaky red right eye but he covers it with an eye patch. I just this on my Newtype USA September issue and thought it looked pretty cool with this red eye of his. Thought I might as well check it out, I wonder if this red eye of his is like a Geass. That be pretty cool.

Inmates does Hare Hare Yukai

If you aren’t familiar with the inmates in the Philippines dancing to Thriller, you might want to go to youtube and search for that video. It was quite entertaining and weird… Whats even more weird is that the inmates this time is doing Haruhi. Too bad its filmed at night time so its black and white.

This prison scares me. Never do anything illegal in the Philippines or you will regret it.

Otaku’s Cookbook

For you otakus out there who doesn’t know how to cook, fear not! Japan has solved this problem by coming out with a cookbook for otakus. Thats right! Not only does the book have images of food for you to learn to cook but it also has anime characters. One of the pages show the soba noodles that Kyon had at the school festival in the hit anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It actually shows you how to cook it which is pretty weird but cool in a way.

Hayate no Gotoku ED2 Single Released!

The second ED for Hayate no Gotoku has been released. You can grab the single at Tokyo Toshokan, the link can be found under the Community section of the sidebar.

1. Get My Way! – 2:56
2. 青空と太陽 – 4:21
3. Get My Way! (Instrumental ver.) – 2:56
4. 青空と太陽 (Instrumental ver.) – 4:18

I wished Get My Way! would have been longer than just 1 minute and 26 seconds longer. The song is still great so I won’t complain much about it. And the additional track is also really good, so grab the single now! The single isn’t released by Nipponsei or whoever you people prefer your singles from.

CLANNAD English Translations

CLANNAD has been one of Key’s most popular titles in the visual novel genre. I have not seen any CLANNAD CG sets so I’m not sure if there is any sexual content in it but supposedly it has a really good story.

For those who are interested in visual novels such as CLANNAD but sadly can’t read Japanese or your computer isn’t Japanese and the kanji doesn’t show when playing, don’t worry. Baka-Tsuki which is a translation team has put CLANNAD visual novel has one of their active projects since January 22, 2007. The latest announcement was on May 17 which says Tomoyo’s route is 53% complete.

If you want to help with the translation project visit their wiki site which is Clannad – Baka-Tsuki. I don’t see why translation companies only do eroges and not visual novels. I think visual novels will sell quite well here in North America since there are quite a few people I know that really wanna play CLANNAD or other ones like Little Busters!

Lets wish Baka-Tsuki luck on translating this and hope they don’t give up and finish soon. There is no estimated date of when it should be complete but my estimate date should be Spring/Summer 2008.
