Haruhi-ism For Everyone!

As mentioned just not too long ago, Haruhi is very very popular (note bold and underline). Not only did she invade the PSP with her craziness in trying to find aliens, time travelers, or even ESPers, she even invaded the #1 system that causes injuries… The Nintendo Wii.

Yes, the Nintendo Wii. Now how would this game work for a Nintendo Wii? I have no clue but damn she is everywhere. Oh thats right, did I forget to mention that she has also invaded the PS2 as well?

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if half of Japan is in a cult and currently worshiping a 2D character right now. Sure Haruhi is awesome but this is a bit overboard.

Haruhi Hits the Small Screens

Just how popular is Haruhi getting? From otakus learning the tricky dance of Hare Hare Yukai to major reference usage in animes and now a game. This game will be produced by none other than Bandai Namco.

No idea what this game will be like but sadly I don’t have a PSP if I knew this was coming, I would of kept my PSP… Well the official website will be up in July 10th, and the game should be released sometime this year.

God… I hope a second season for Haruhi gets announced soon.

Animes Licensed by Geneon

I’m reading previous issues and seeing what Geneon has decided to bring to the American audience and seems like they have decided on getting Zero no Tsukaima. I hope this series does well in the American audience, I loved the series when I first watched it and hoped for a sequel. There is a sequel coming out for Zero no Tsukaima this Summer 2007. Here is a list of what Geneon is bringing to us.

  • Zero no Tsukaima
  • Higurashi no naku Koroni
  • Rozen Maiden

Although Rozen Maiden and Higurashi’s vol 1 dvd is already released it doesn’t hurt to remind you people that these 2 great series is brought to you by Geneon and you should definitely check them out.

Animes Licensed by ADV

In the licensing update article in Newtype July 2007 issue, there are several anime that are listed in here and one of them was Xenosaga. I never even knew Xenosaga was made into an anime. Other licensed anime are, Welcome to the NHK!, Pumpkin Scissors, The Wallflower, and Red Garden. These are licensed but none of these are going to be coming out anytime soon. Here is a little list to make it a little clear of what is licensed.

  • Xenosaga the Animation
  • Pumpkin Scissors
  • Welcome to the NHK!
  • Red Garden
  • The Wallflower
  • Innocent Venus
  • Air TV

Bad, Newtype, Bad!

Today, I got my July 2007 issue of Newtype USA in the mail. This issue they got Haruhi for the cover which is awesome because so far in the previous issues the cover are really weird and boring, except for the October 2006 issue.

Although the cover is Haruhi there was nothing inside like a centerfold poster or something, no, it just gave me a big fat spoiler to the anime. I already seen the anime so I didn’t read it but I mean c’mon, spoiling the anime already when it just released?

Newtype did get a new look on the pages which looks really nice much better than the previous issues or original look, it looked more modern and techy. Thats one thing they did good on this issue and hopefully future issues if they keep with this design. My problem is, my free DVD. I open it up shake it a little no DVD dropped out. I have contacted the customer service about… 3 hours ago, I even went downstairs to watch The Da Vinci Code.

Finally, Air TV was featured in this issue and instead of the DVD being released in July like it says on their official site it is now August. I’m not sure which one to trust. If its July, great I can get it at the anicon in August, but if it comes out in August then I hope it releases before the anicon starts.

Summer 2007 Preview

It’s almost that time of the year where we get to sit back, relax and just watch anime all day. So, to prepare for that here is a list of the summer anime of 2007. The date/time in the list is not the confirmed official time and may be subject to change.

Please check MOON PHASE for entire listing of anime and air time, check AndrewLB’s Summer 2007 wiki for which fansub is subbing what. These are the only one I am currently interested and hopefully you guys will be watching these ones too. Anyway lets start shall we?

Premiere Date: July 8th, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Sundays at 25:30
I have no idea what this anime is about but it looks damn interesting. It’s one of those weird magical girl animes again. The only magical girl anime I liked was Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Other than that I never really watched magical girl anime because they always seem tedious and kiddish. This one seems that way as well but its a comedy so I might as well try one episode and see what its like.

Odds of me sticking with this series: Decent (Subject to Change)

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
Premiere Date: July 3rd, 2007
Airtime in Japan (JST, GMT+9): Tuesdays at 26:30
The first one was creepy as hell and I enjoyed it. I will definitely be watching this one. I really love the chapter for Rena in the first one. That one was the most creepy one of them all. I didn’t really finish the first one though because I had to reformat my computer so I lost everything… I’ll probably go back and watch the first one again from where I left off if I can remember.

Odds of me sticking with this series: Guaranteed
